A: An acknowledgment is the day that a doctor diagnoses you with an illness following an incident at work. If you suffer a work incident and are only diagnosed by a doctor some days later with an illness attributable to the incident, then this is the "acknowledgment date" and you have three years from this date to make a claim for compensation.
